Job Description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Computer Operator to join our hotel team. The Computer Operator will be responsible for handling all computer-based operations such as data entry, reservation system updates, report generation, billing, record keeping, and assisting the front desk with system-related tasks.

The ideal candidate should have excellent computer skills, knowledge of hotel management software, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Reservation System Management:
Operate and update hotel booking/reservation software (e.g., Opera, IDS, eZee, etc.) with guest check-in/check-out data.
Coordinate with the front desk and housekeeping to ensure room status accuracy.

Data Entry & Record Keeping:
Enter and maintain guest information, billing details, inventory data, and employee records in hotel systems.
Keep backup records of important data and ensure data accuracy at all times.

Report Generation:
Prepare daily reports such as occupancy status, revenue reports, room availability, and guest feedback summaries.
Assist department heads with printing and formatting reports as needed.

Billing & Documentation Support:
Generate guest invoices and bills, verify room charges, food and beverage expenses, and process payments accurately.
Assist the accounts team with data entry of vendor invoices and payment records.

Communication Support:
Draft emails, internal memos, and basic letters for hotel correspondence.
Maintain updated contact databases for guests, vendors, and corporate clients.

IT & System Support:
Assist in troubleshooting basic computer, printer, or software issues and coordinate with IT support when needed.
Maintain digital files and organize folders for easy access.

Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma or degree in Computer Applications, Hotel Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a computer operator, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setup.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Familiar with hotel property management systems (PMS).

Typing speed of at least 35–40 WPM.

Basic troubleshooting skills for computer and peripheral devices.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Professional attitude and customer service orientation.

Work Conditions:
Based in a hotel office or front desk area.

Rotational shifts may be required, including weekends and holidays.

May involve extended hours during peak seasons.
